3-Part Intermediate Acrylic Painting Workshop (Online Class)

$60

with Georgeanne Gaffney

Calendar Jun 8, 2021 at 5 pm, runs for 3 weeks

Tuesdays, June 8, 15 & 22, 5:00-7:00pm EST

Take your acrylic painting skills to the next level!

Join landscape and portrait artist, Georgeanne Gaffney, and paint an Adirondack landscape from a photograph with acrylic paints.  Georgeanne will teach a painting technique based on observation with a deconstructed, abstract approach by teaching you how to paint upside down! You will learn layering and distressing techniques to create textures. This is a fun and relaxed approach to painting that everyone will enjoy and be amazed by their results.

Materials:

Acrylic paints, solid body preferred. As everyone has different paints available to them, I recommend having your preferred primary and secondary colors: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Purple and White. NO BLACK. We will make our own “black”.

I used different colors depending on my mood and desired palette. For instance, sometimes I want my red to be Alizarin Crimson. Sometimes I prefer my red to be Cadmium Red. And so on……

  • A premade paint set can be used
  • Surface/Substrate: Pre-Primed or Gessoed Wood or Masonite
  • Jar for water
  • Water
  • Palette, can be a piece of glass, plastic or palette paper
  • Clean cloth or paper towels
  • Hairdryer
  • Brushes - Round tip and flat, small to medium
  • 220 Sandpaper, one sheet will do
